The Harrison County Weed Commissioner is appointed by the Board of Supervisors.  The weed commissioner shall supervise the control and destruction of all noxious weeds in the county; including those of farm lands, railroad lands, abandoned cemeteries, state lands and state parks, primary and secondary roads, streets, and other lands within cities.  The weed commissioner is responsible for public outreach and educating Harrison Counties urban and rural residents about noxious and invasive weeds.
