Immunization Services

Harrison County Home & Public Health's Immunization clinic will be held the third Wednesday of each month.  The clinic will be held at the Harrison County Home & Public Health, 116 N. 2nd Ave. in Logan.  Children up to the age of 18 are eligible through the VFC (Vaccines For Children Program) if they are, enrolled in Medicaid, do not have health insurance, are American Indian or Alaskan Native, or have health insurance that DOES NOT pay for vaccines. All children must be accompanied by their parents.  Please bring your written immunization record with you.

The Immunization Clinics are held at the Harrison County Public Health Department in the Courthouse Annex from 8:30 a.m. to 12 noon.  Please bring your child's immunization record with you to the clinic.

Harrison County Home & Public Health's also provides blood lead level testing for children ages 12 months to 6 years.

Child Health

Informing and care coordination services are available to assist families with children eligible for Medicaid,
from birth to age 21, in accessing EPSDT Care for Kids services.
Informing activities include:

• explaining to families the benefits of preventive health and oral health care and the EPSDT Care for Kids program;
• explaining what to expect when they take their child for dental examinations and medical screening examinations based on the EPSDT periodicity schedule and the ACIP immunization schedule;
• assuring that families have freedom of choice in selection of health care providers;
• Encouraging families to develop permanent provider relationships, i.e. medical and dental homes;
• Providing information on the location of services available and how to obtain them; and providing information as to available support services such as transportation, translation, or child care.

Families also receive additional support from their EPSDT care coordinator. Care coordinators assist families by linking their children to quality community-based preventative health services - screenings, diagnosis, and treatment.
Care coordination includes:

• Contacting families to remind them of periodic medical and dental examinations;
• Assisting families to schedule appointments as needed; and
• Reminding families of appointments.
